It is on the left side of case just above the accelerator. This diaphragm unit is double acting, i. It is a HARD job to replace this diaphragm unit. It requires removing a lot of under dash parts and ducts and then standing on your head to reach two extremely hard to get at nuts. Access to Heater Control: If you need to go further, to best get access to the rear of the HVAC controls, remove the complete ashtray assembly as if replacing a fuse , remove the plastic compartment above the ashtray two screws behind the plastic cover surrounding the cig lighter and then PULL out the radio from the plastic box it lives in and undo the Phillips screw at the back of the radio box and pull it out. Then remove the plastic panel around the HVAC controls just pull on it, it’s not that brittle , and you will expose a few Phillips screws that hold the HVAC controls in place. Unscrew and pull out the entire mechanism, which is pretty hard since there’s hardly any slack in the wires etc. Air Conditioning Vents Not Working. Under-dash leaks are extremely rare.
Ford Ranger Heater Not Working
The main idea came from reading a variety of forums, old Mother Earth News articles, and checking out some old newsgroups. It seemed that others had had some success creating solar heaters in a variery of methods, from something as complex as a custom built metal heat exchanger to something as simple as a bale of irrigation hose sitting on a slope. I decided to aim somewhat inbetween these extremes and came up with a solar “panel” consisting of a 4’x4′ plywood sheet on a frame with as much irrigation hose as I could coil onto the surface I’ve added a diagram to show the piping clearly, and added a bit more description at the end of the article The whole thing is propped up with legs at more-or-less the optimal angle for my location, and pointing more-or-less south.

The two heater hoses on the bottom left of the page (Websters photo) do not indicate from which heater hose.

Order a kit for cutting, bending and flaring brake pipes. Also order a pair of 3 tonne axle stands ready for work on the brakes. Call Brian Chant and arrange for the bulkhead to be picked up tomorrow. The next time I see it there should be quite a transformation. He introduces me to Mariusz, who will waxoyl inside the chassis. Now awaiting the axle stands, so that work can start on the brakes, and the Parts Manual so that replacement bulkhead fittings can be ordered.
The axle stands arrived yesterday, so today the rear end was jacked up onto the stands. The right hand rear wheel and brake drum were removed to see what has already been done, and all looks in order.

Do not use PVC as it softens at too low a temperature causing leaks. When cutting lengthwise, be sure to cut in a single channel for the whole length. Cut the ABS pipe into two lengths, each I picked this width so it would fit between the roof rafters in my attic. This will be easier if you pre-drill with a smaller bit and gradually increase the size.
Jun 11, · Heater Hose Hook Ups Hate to admit it, but I am looking for how the heater hoses hook up. It has been 20 years on the car and am working on installing the heater hose and I am not sure which one from the heater core goes to the water pump and which one goes to the intake. , PM #2. chevynut. For a car that age, it is recommended anyways to flush it all out. The main thing is to get all the air out to prevent hot spots. Also, the cooling system capacity is Once you flush the system, there is still a lot of water left in there. Here is the GM procedure for flush if you don’t have a flush machine: Do not use a chemical flush. Store used coolant in a properly labeled container.
Do not pour used coolant down a drain.
Heater blows cold at idle but warm when higher RPM’s..??
Crimp on quick-disconnects for relay – Recommended: For years talk of electric water pumps had been circulating through the LS1 community, and finally Meziere has delivered. In this install I’ll go through a full walkthrough of installing a Meziere Street Electric pump on a ‘ ’02 F-body. It is very important to note that there are an unlimited number of ways to wire up the electrics to this pump, and in this document I will only provide a few options.
My personal recommendation is to use an automotive relay and trigger it off the fuel pump trigger wire. If an additional need of being able to turn the pump on with the car off is required, then a switch and some diodes should be added to this setup.

We have had decent weather lately so today was the first day it has been cooler. STILL getting cooler heat at idle and at stop lights, signs I originally flushed out the heater core and it ran out just fine so I’m still at a loss as to what it could be.

Sep 18, · Thread: Heater Core hose hook-up. car came to me with a single downdraft but I inherited the re-routed heater core hoses and carved up heater box. Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that the coolant that goes through the heater core bypass (if the valve is open) is marginal and doesn’t effect the motor’s heat dissipation, wouldn’t be much.
Ford has released two customer satisfaction recalls for the 7. How to Bypass a Heater Core by Derek Odom If the heater core goes out in your vehicle, it may be necessary to bypass it to keep the cooling system working and to keep coolant from pouring into the passenger compartment. Bypassing is not a complicated task, but the correct components must be present to divert the coolant around the heater core successfully.
Disconnect the heater hoses from the firewall side. Both heater hoses will be connected to nipples, which go through the firewall and into the heater core.

Specially on longer trips in colder regions, a warm shower and warm interior makes a huge difference for you personal comfort. First its very compact as space is limited, second you only have to have one single source of fuel on board and third you can preheat your Diesel engine on very cold days. The reason for an Espar vs. Webasto is the better availability of spare parts worldwide as well as the possibility to run the heater over a longer period of time in high elevation over m above sea level — with special fuel pump sensor which we are going to have a lot during our time in the Andes.
Finding the hot fresh water tank was a challenge as most of the RV or marine tanks in North America are way to big for the limited space we have available. I was close to get a custom tank made, but we finally found the perfect size at the Overland Expo in Germany. Elgena — an established company from Munich — offers all kinds of stainless steel water heaters in smaller sizes. We bought the Nautic-Junior M with 10 litre capacity.
After getting all the parts together, we had to find a space to mount them. Most sense made for us to take the rear air-condition and heater core out front AC is still working and build a box for everything. After months looking through ads on Craigslist I found an old toolbox with almost the exact measurements we need.

Apr 14, · I need to know how to route and hook up the hoses from the heater core to the motor on a rs camaro, v-6, w/ac does not matter which goes where on the heater core one from water pump straight to heater core and the other comes from the intake manifold, they both travel below the passenger side valve cover.
I was able to get to the heater core and get it swapped out. To answer my original question: The hoses hook directly to the heater core, however you still have to access it from under the dash. Getting everything stripped down to the AC Evaporator was a piece of cake, and I didn’t run into any issues until that point.
I followed the previously mentioned guide and it worked really well. Removing the plate allows more room to move the evaporator. I also removed a hose cradle from between the wiper blades to allow for a bit more movement. One thing I wasn’t ready for was all the sharp edges. Once you start getting into it, everything is factory cut edges and nothing is rounded.

Refrigerant Capacity R a ……………… System Operating Pressures 3 High Side …………… psi The heater blower motor fan is controlled by ECC output power stage. Air conditioning system will only operate above 32 F 0 C. Blower switch must not be in zero position to allow compressor to engage. If outside temperature is between F 19 C , a varying degree of bi-level air is selected. At temperatures greater than 68 F 20 C , all air is directed to instrument panel vents.
The defrost air distribution setting is selected if engine is cold and outside and interior temperatures are also low. Each interior temperature sensor incorporates a fan which draws air through sensor. The resistance of the air temperature sensors decreases as temperature increases. The solar sensor, combined with the theft alarm diode, is a photodiode which generates a current when exposed to solar radiation.
